Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions
Q What is CBD?

CBD is one of the dominant chemical compounds found in the Cannabis plant. This compound is particularly coveted due to the ever increasing and profound positive research surrounding the potential health benefits of CBD, particularly when used as a full spectrum plant extract to make use of the over 100 other compounds to produce what is known as the Entourage Effect.

Q What is CBD oil?

CBD oil is generally referring to a CBD dominant extract, blended with an accompanying carrier oil. There are many different ways to produce CBD oil and not all are equal! At Cannadonia we make sure every part of the process is the elite standard.

  • Supercritical CO2 extraction.
  • Fully winterised and filtered to produce the finest Golden Oil. Never crude black oil.
  • Full Spectrum extract from organically grown, EU sourced hemp. The finest soil standards worldwide.
  • High quality, organic hemp seed oil as the carrier oil.

CBD is 100% legal here in the UK. None of our products contain THC and we do not sell any products that violate the United Kingdom Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.

Q Can I buy CBD products if I am under the age of 18 on this website?

No. Although many people use CBD as a supplement for their children, we do not sell to anyone under the age of 18 on this site.

Q Does CBD make you ‘high’?

No. CBD, as opposed to THC, is a non psychoactive component of the cannabis sativa plant and it is impossible for CBD to get you high.

Q Are there any negative side effects?

CBD is a natural product which is readily absorbed into the body and received by our own endocannabinoid system and has no known side effects within the dosage limitations.

Q What is the endocannabinoid system?

The endocannabinoid system is a group of endogenous cannabinoid receptors located in the mammalian brain and throughout the central and peripheral nervous systems, consisting of neuromodulatory lipids and their receptors. Known as "the body’s own cannabinoid system", the ECS is involved in almost all physiological processes including appetite, cravings, pain-sensation, mood, and memory, and in mediating the psychoactive effects of cannabis. The ECS is also involved in voluntary exercise and may be related to the evolution of the runner's high in human beings and related aspects of motivation or reward for locomotor activity in other animals. The ECS is a receptor system that readily receives cannabinoids to provide the fuel for its optimal function.

Q What is the correct dosage of CBD?

CBD has no set dosage amount as there are many variables which determine the best dose for each individual at any specific time. The two most common methods used to evaluate the best dose for yourself are starting low and increasing, or starting high and decreasing. The first is to start low and gradually increase from around 10mg per day upwards by 5mg or so until you find the best effects for yourself. The second is to 'saturate' the endocannabinoid system with high doses for a couple of days and then work your way down to a maintenance level dose.

Q What’s the difference between hemp and marijuana?

Hemp refers to strains of cannabis sativa that have been bred specifically for fiber used for clothing and construction, oils and topical ointments, nutritional benefits and a wide and growing variety of other purposes that don’t involve intoxication.

Marijuana is the slang term used for the same plant which was bred instead for high levels of the compound THC, which is the component responsible for giving the ‘high’. THC has also been proved to have vast and extensive health benefits when applied correctly and responsibly but is currently unavailable in any medical capacity in the UK as it is an illegal substance due to it’s intoxicating effects and possible negative side effects.

Q What are the medical benefits of your CBD?

Due to government (MHRA) regulations we can not make any medical claims, offer advice or provide links to information pages on this subject. We therefore suggest for our customers to do their own research. We sell our CBD oil only as a food supplement, to be taken as part of a balanced and healthy diet.

Q Will CBD effect me in a drug test?

It is possible for CBD to show up in a drugs test. Make sure your CBD product is sourced with full lab tests to ensure no incriminating amounts of THC are in your system.

Q Does CBD interact with other medications?

Yes, CBD does interact with other medications. CBD inhibits the activity of the enzyme cytochrome P450, which is responsible for metabolising most of the drugs we consume including 60% of marketed medications.

Q HOW IS OUR CBD EXTRACTED?

All of our CBD is made using supercritical CO2 extraction which is the elite standard form of extraction. Supercritical CO2 is an innovative and effective way to extract CBD oil. When CO2 is exposed to high pressures, it turns to a liquid. Using carbon dioxide as a solvent results in CBD with an enhanced purity and better taste without the use of harmful solvents or additives.

Q EU MANUFACTURED

All our products are manufactured from EU. certified, non-GMO. industrial hemp (Cannabis Sativa), using Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). The EU has the most superior standards of practice when it comes to growing hemp thus producing the highest quality products in the world.

Q WHAT IS MEANT BY GUARANTEED CBD?

All of our products are stringently lab tested by independent third parties. The % we display is guaranteed amount of CBD in that product. It never refers to anything else. We never mislead our customers, the % you see is the % of CBD you get.

Q WHAT IS FULL-SPECTRUM?

Full Spectrum generally refers to CBD products that not only contain CBD, but also contain all terpenes and other cannabinoids. Many other compounds, present only in Full-Spectrum Hemp products have been found to have potential health benefits. Since the molecules of the whole plant remain intact in the extracted full-spectrum CBD cannabis oil, these compounds work together and as a result deliver what is referred to as the “entourage effect”. When the array of cannabinoids and other compounds are left together, they can enhance the therapeutic benefits and regulatory affects you are searching for.
